ELIGIBILITY

The 2013 CO-OP Photo Contest is open to all CO-OP students currently registered at the University of Ottawa.

PHOTO ENTRIES

  • Maximum total submission of five photographs per student (each photo must be submitted as a separate entry).
  • All photo entries, together with completed forms, must be received by 4 p.m. on Friday, July 12, 2013.
  • We are seeking original photos that highlight and define your CO-OP experiences at work (see category details below).

CATEGORY

Photographs taken for this contest must be related to your work term.

You may submit photographs of you alone, of you with your supervisor or of you and your fellow CO-OP students. The photos should be of you on the job during the work term (e.g., at your desk, in the lab, in the shop, out in the field or in other work-related areas). You may submit photos in this category that were taken by you (i.e. you set the camera on self-timer) or by a colleague if you have received their permission to submit it. If a photograph was taken by a professional photographer (e.g., a photographer hired to take official company photos), it cannot be submitted for this contest.

SUBMIT YOUR PICTURE

Photographs must be submitted in digital format via the "Submit Your Pictures" section of this Web site.

Notes:

  • You will also need to provide us with one consent form signed by your employer (form is available on the photo submission site).
  • Photos should be shot at the highest resolution possible and be in JPEG, PNG or GIF format.
  • Files should be no larger than 5 MB each.

You must obtain the approval of your employer and/or supervisor to take photos at your work site.

OWNERSHIP OF PHOTOGRAPHS

All photographs submitted for the 2013 CO-OP Photo Contest become the property of the University of Ottawa Co-operative Education Programs Office, whether they are a winning entry or not.

SELECTION AND PRIZES

A jury will review all entries and select winners. All decisions made by the jury are final. Winning entries will be announced by the end of August 2013. Though you can submit more than one photo, you can win only once. If the jury selects two of your photos, only the better of the two prizes will be awarded to you. With this rule, more students have a chance to win a prize.

Contest prizes

The prizes are:

  • First Prize - $500
  • Second Prize - St-Laurent Shopping Centre gift card - $150
