JOB PURPOSE

The Broadcom Ottawa office is involved with various software and verification efforts within Broadcom’s Broadband Communications group. The successful candidate will be working in a team designing software to perform ASIC block verification testing for Broadcom’s industry leading broadband chips both pre and post silicon tape-out.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Under the direction of senior engineering staff, the candidate will be responsible for ASIC block verification test bench design and testing within agreed upon time restrictions, complete with accompanying documentation. The candidate will be required to learn the details of the ASIC operation as well as learn, and contribute to the development of, ASIC block verification methodology.

The student will work within a lab development and debug environment, gaining experience with ASIC verification development in a Linux environment, as well as becoming familiar with the tools, equipment, and technology associated with the Broadband industry.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

Primary skill sets for this position include a high level competency in both high and low level programming languages and knowledge of digital ASIC design.

Additional assets include knowledge of networking protocols, the ability to work within and contribute to a team design approach, a desire to work in a fast paced lab environment, and a willingness to learn new technologies and skills.
