We require a student to assist us in preparing products and provide support to the International Polar Year activities occurring in Canada’s North between 2007-2009. The student would participate within the IPY CIS team and be expected to contribute in the production of sea ice products and their staging on the CIS IPY Web site. The student would be exposed to a variety of hardware, software, operating systems, and image analysis and GIS applications. We are looking for a student with some experience in working with geospatial datasets and remote sensing and/or GIS tools. The successful student will also have experience working with Web page design and related tools, languages (e.g. HTML). Experience in working with graphic packages (e.g. Photoshop) would be considered an asset.
